Done in a Day Application

Mission Statement: The Junior League of Beaumont is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively education and charitable.
Values Statement: The Junior League of Beaumont believes in the preservation and strengthening of families by providing proper parenting skills, education, and examples of positive values and healthy lifestyles as well as enriching the lives of the elderly. We believe in promoting voluntarism in collaboration with other organizations to strengthen our community & enhance the quality of life for Beaumont citizens.

Done In A Day: The Done In A Day (DIAD) project enables the League to assist community agencies which do not have a need for League volunteers on an ongoing basis. DIAD provides volunteer support for community projects needing help for a one or two day special event or have a one time need for extra volunteers. When nonprofit agencies are limited in achieving their goals because of lack of manpower, this program provides a dedicated group of JLB volunteers to work on short-term projects.

Application Process:

  • Requests for DIAD volunteers must be submitted to the Committee Chair at least forty-five (45) business days prior to the event to be considered and all form fields must be completed.
  • The Chair of DIAD Committee will notify each agency requesting assistance of receipt of this application within fourteen (14) days.
  • Each application will be reviewed by a committee to ensure it meets all criteria listed below.  Approved DIAD requests will be presented to members of the Committee and participation encouraged but we cannot guarantee volunteers.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Projects must encompass the spirit of Junior League of Beaumont’s mission and ideals, and meet a community need in Beaumont and surrounding communities with clearly stated goals and objectives.
  • The project cannot involve fundraising of any kind for the organization. The JLB’s volunteers will not be provided for administrative needs (i.e. envelope stuffing, errands, etc.,) or projects involving marketing, medical research, political, or religious matters.
  • Acceptable projects for consideration require 5 to 20 volunteers and must be completed within a 4-8 hour work session.
  • Agencies must have a 501(c) 3 tax designation or be in the advanced ruling period for obtaining this designation.
  • Agencies agree to coordinate all public relations efforts involving a DIAD project with the JLB’s Communication Council. All promotional materials should be approved by both the agency and JLB prior to release to the media. The agency agrees to give the League appropriate sponsor credit by use of our name and logo on advertising, flyers, brochures, etc., that are created by the agency to advertise the event or project.
